Tony Khan Teases “The Most Important Announcements” In AEW

Tony Khan Big Announcement

Tony Khan has once again teased big things for AEW.

While Khan’s “big announcements” have received mixed results in the past as some not been worthy of the hype when they were finally revealed, the AEW President believes that what he has planned will change the course of his wrestling promotion.

Taking to social media to hype Collision and the upcoming All In pay-per-view at Wembley Stadium, Khan also stated that the upcoming announcements he has planned are “the most important in AEW history”:

Thank you all who watch AEW as we approach indelible times in our history with #AEWAllIn London @wembleystadium weeks away, + the most important announcements in AEW history looming large now!

While the nature of the announcements remains undetermined, many believe that it will be connected to AEW’s media rights deal, which is still to be confirmed at the time of writing. Despite the fact that Khan has consistently stated that he has a great relationship with Warner Bros. Discovery and the head of the network David Zaslav, a deal has yet to be finalised and the exclusivity window for negotiations has expired.

What Has Tony Khan Announced In The Past?

Although some announcements have lived up to the hype such as the revelation that their first UK show in 2023 would take place at Wembley Stadium in London and the crossover show with New Japan, others have proven to be lackluster and have made the “big announcements” from Khan more of a punchline as opposed to something to be exited about. Examples of the announcements that did not live up to the hype were the introduction of a new reality shoe, informing UK fans that All In tickets were now on sale and announcing a special event in Boston instead of outright announcing that they had signed Mercedes Mone, who made her debut at the event.
