Tommaso Ciampa is now a champion in AEW following his debut match, which took place on the latest episode of Collision.
On the January 31 broadcast, Ciampa defeated Mark Briscoe to capture the TNT Championship, marking his first title reign in the promotion since officially becoming All Elite earlier in the week. The match saw Ciampa hit Briscoe with a German suplex and a running knee to pick up the victory. The victory brings Briscoe’s reign to an end at 70 days. Briscoe won the title back at Ful Gear 2025.
Ciampa celebrated with the title after the match as the fans chanted, “You deserve it.” Commentary also pointed out that only Ciampa and Mercedes Mone have won AEW championships in their first match for the company. Former champion Kyle Fletcher was also seen after the match, indicating that he wanted an opportunity to face The Psycho Killer.
Tommaso Ciampa Makes Major Impact On AEW Collision
Ciampa made his surprise AEW debut earlier in the week on the January 28 episode of Dynamite. Following Briscoe’s victory over El Clon, the now former TNT Champion issued an open challenge for anyone not in The Don Callis Family to challenge him for the gold. Unknown music played as Ciampa made his entrance, with the crowd giving the new signee a very warm welcome when they realised who it was.
