- More Intercontinental title feuding featuring Apollo Crews, Sami Zayn and current champion Big E.
- The final confrontation between Universal Champion Roman Reigns and challenger Kevin Owens ahead of their last man standing match at the PPV.
- Various people being thrown over the top rope to build to the Royal Rumble match.
