The Rock could be set to be a part of WrestleMania 43 in 2027, and would be paid very handsomely if he accepts.
Next year’s WrestleMania will be a historic one as it will be the first to take place outside of North America. Following previous b-show Premium Live Events taking place in Saudi Arabia and the upcoming 2026 Royal Rumble set to also air live from the kingdom, WWE announced in 2025 that WrestleMania 43 would also take place in Saudi Arabia.
Given that the Saudi Arabian sports authority has reportedly paid big money to host WrestleMania, fans are expecting a significant amount of starpower to be present across the show. While there have been rumours that John Cena may go bac on his retirement, or Attitude Era stars such as The Undertaker or Steve Austin could make an appearance, a new report claims that Hollywood star and former WWE Champion Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson could also be at the event.
During a recent interview on the Raffi Talks podcast, Rock spoke about his excitement for the upcoming show, and added that he had conversations concerning the event:
“I’m excited for the brand of WrestleMania, I’m excited for the Kingdom because that is a big show,” Johnson stated. “I’m also excited not only for the brand, but I’m excited for our athletes to be able to participate in an event like that, and that is a global event. And so I can’t wait.”
“In terms of the conversations I’ve been having, it’s all good. It will always be good.”
The Rock Could Receive “Record-Breaking” Offer For WrestleMania 43
In a follow-up report by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the Saudi Arabia organisers want The Rock to be a part of the show, and the Hollywood megastar “would be getting the largest offer ever made for someone to do a pro wrestling show.”
It is unknown if the offer would be for an appearance, or would also include a return to the ring.
Currently focused on acting, Rock recently gained critical acclaim for his portrayal of Mark Kerr in the A24 biopic The Smashing Machine. However, Dwayne Johnson did not receive an Oscar nomination for his performance.
Rock last competed at WrestleMania 40, where he and Roman Reigns defeated Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins in the main event of night 1. Rock’s last WWE appearance was at Elimination Chamber the following year, which saw him in the ring as part of John Cena’s heel turn.
