An update has been provided on MJF, who has been away from AEW TV for a number of weeks due to other commitments.
On top of his work in All Elite Wrestling, the former World Champion has also made his way into the movie world over the last couple of years. On top of a brief role in the Von Erich biopic The Iron Claw, Maxwell Jacob Friedman also had a major part in Happy Gilmore 2, which was released on Netflix back in July. According to the latest update, MJF’s latest project looks set to conclude soon.
As reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Friedman has been in Winnipeg filming for the movie Violent Night 2, and the schedule had increased significantly over the past few weeks. However, with the film set to wrap soon, it is possible that the former World Champion could be back on TV soon, but Fightful was not informed when the return date would be.
When Was MJF last Seen In AEW?
The former World and International Champion was last in action at the All Out pay-per-view back in September, which saw him lose to Mark Briscoe in a tables and tacks match to bring their rivalry to an end.
Following his victory in the Casino Gauntlet at All In, MJF still has the opportunity to receive a World Championship match when he chooses. However, following an update from Tony Khan, the match needs to be given advance notice, as opposed to the WWE Money in the Bank style cash-in that can be redeemed at any time.
