YouTube has become a major source of distribution for WWE over the past decade plus, with the company being one of the most popular channels on the platform.
With more than 111 million subscribers at the time of writing, the pro wrestling promotion has grown since its first uploaded video 17 years ago to now being the 11th most subscribed channel in the world.
On top of weekly highlights from flagship shows Raw, SmackDown and NXT, the company regularly uploads full matches and segments from it extensive archive footage. In fact, it is likely that just about every top match and segment from the past 4 decades has been posted to the platform for the world to stream at their leisure.
While traditional TV ratings not what they were in an age where the on-demand service is now dominant, many look to streaming numbers to judge the success of a show. With the 10 biggest videos now amassing more than 100 million viewers each, the top surpassing more than 300 million, some of WWE’s videos outrank the biggest stars in music and sports with their highlights.
Coming in at number one is the segment where Randy Orton kissed Stephanie McMahon while her husband Triple H was handcuffed to the rope, which continued the build to their match at WrestleMania 25.
The most viewed match on the list was from Survivor Series 2011, which saw The Rock step back into the ring for the first time since 2004 as he teamed with rival John Cena to take on The Miz and R-Truth, which saw the WrestleMania 28 and 29 main eventers emerge victorious, albeit with Rock laying out Cena after the match with a Rock Bottom.
Other notable videos from the list include a top 10 of in-ring proposals, The Undertaker wrestling Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam 2015, and Stephanie McMahon slapping Roman Reigns.
