John Cena and Randy Orton will once again face of at Backlash in a match that could leave some WWE fans disappointed.
Following his victory over Cody Rhodes in the main event of WrestleMania 41 to win his 17th WWE Championship, Cena appeared live with the title the next night on the Raw after Mania. After reminding the fans that his dates were limited and that he is on course to ruin wrestling for everyone, Cena was his with an RKO from Orton.
Following the attack from Orton and given that Backlash will take place in Orton’s hometown of St. Louis, Missouri on May 11th, it’s all but official that Cena vs. Orton will once again face off at the Premium Live Event, likely headlining the show. However, for fans hoping to see an extended feud, a new report has provided an interesting take on the match.
As reported by WrestleVotes, the Cena vs. Orton match is set to be billed as a “one last time” match, meaning that Orton won’t be Cena’s final opponent at the end of the year:

Cena and Orton have faced each other countless times over the course of their careers and were also a part of the legendary OVW class of 2002. With Orton not set to be Cena’s final opponent, fans are now uncertain as to who will get the honour of being Cena’s final match.
John Cena Counts Down The Dates
On the Raw after Mania, Cena reminded the fans that his time in the ring is limited. Listing off all of his appearances so far, the Undisputed Champion noted that he only has 27 dates left remaining in 2025, not 27 matches.
