Some Las Vegas Spots May Not Be Able To Show WWE WrestleMania 42

Despite the fact that WrestleMania 42 is set to descend upon Las Vegas later in the year, regulations may have put a stop to some venues’ plans.

As reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful SelectMania watchalongs scheduled to take place in the city look set to be cancelled. The report notes that while a number of talent traditionally get extra work to attend watchalongs in the host city, a number of establishments have been informed that they will be unable to broadcast WWE’s biggest show of the year, even if they pay the appropriate licensing fee.

The reason for the change is that there is a new protocol in place where venues can’t broadcast a Vegas event within 250 miles of the city, with the belief being that this has been done to drive ticket sales for the show.

Fightful adds that a number of talent have already agreed deals to the watchalong events, with one saying that the new rule undermined the event being brought to the city. WWE did not respond when asked to comment on the update.

According to WrestleTix, 36,737 tickets have currently been sold for WrestleMania Sunday.

One Match Official For WWE WrestleMania 42 In Las Vegas

With the biggest show of the year just under 10 weeks away, one match has been made official for the event. After winning the Royal Rumble and engaging in a heated war of words with World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk on the next episode of Raw, Roman Reigns confirmed he would face Punk at WrestleMania 42.
