Solo Sikoa To Defend Us Title At WWE Saturday Night's Main Event

Solo Sikoa will be in action at the next WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event special, and will also put his newly won US Championship on the line.

As announced by SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis on social media, Sikoa will defend the title against Jimmy Uso on July 12. If Uso wins, this will be his first singles championship in WWE after previously holding the Tag Team Championships with his brother Jey numerous times, with one reign being the longest in company history.

Sikoa shockingly won the title at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia, pinning Jacob Fatu following interference from a returning Tonga Loa and a debuting Hikuleo, who has since been renamed to Tala Tonga. With Fatu at a numbers disadvantage over the past few weeks, Jimmy Uso has come to the aid of the former champion.

This is the 4th match announced for the special, which is expected to be headlined by Goldberg’s retirement match against World Heavyweight Champion Gunther.

  • Gunther (c) vs. Goldberg – Singles match for the World Heavyweight Championship. This will also be Goldberg’s retirement match
  • Randy Orton vs. Drew McIntyre
  • Seth Rollins vs. LA Knight
  • Solo Sikoa (c) vs. Jimmy Uso – Singles match for the United States Championship

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event will air live on Peacock in the United States and on YouTube internationally.
