The May 7th episode of SmackDown is being promoted as a Throwback episode. The only advertised match for the show is Seth Rollins vs. Cesaro. This match will be a rematch from WrestleMania 37, where The Swiss Cyborg was able to pick up the victory.
With the throwback theme being advertised, expect nostalgia cameos and a vintage look for the ring and arena. It has not been announced whether the set will be a vintage SmackDown set or a set similar to 80’s/90’s WWE TV.
While not formally advertised, expect a follow up to the closing events of last week’s show. Universal Champion Roman Reigns retained his title against Daniel Bryan. As a result of this, Bryan is now banished from SmackDown.
