After a lengthy absence, Samoa Joe is back in AEW.

Making his return on the January 15th episode of Dynamite: Maximum Carnage, Joe came to the aid of Hook, who Christian Cage and The Patriarchy were attacking after his match against Cage ended in disqualification. Cage attempted to hit the con-chair-to onto Hook before Joe’s music hit. The former World Champion dispatched Nick Wayne and Kip Sabian as Cage fled up the ramp. Joe stood tall with Hook and Katsuyori Shibata to close out the segment.]

Samoa Joe Back In AEW

Joe has been absent from AEW TV for over 6 months. Last in action against Chris Jericho in July 2024 in a street fight, Joe was driven through a wall by Jericho after the former World Champion was placed on a forklift truck. The reason for the attack was to write Joe off TV so that he could film season 2 of Twisted Metal, which sees the AEW star play the role of Sweet Tooth, who is voiced by Will Arnett.

Joe won the World Championship at Worlds End 2023 by defeating MJF and bringing to an end the record-breaking reign. Joe held the title until Worlds End when he lost the championship to Swerve Stricland in the main event of the show.
