Samantha Irvin Makes Shock Revelation Regarding WWE Tenure

Samantha Irvin has given more information regarding her time in WWE as a ring announcer for the company.

Samantha Irvin has given more insight into her time in WWE while also admitting she wasn’t the biggest fan of her role within the company.

On October 21st, fans were stunned when Samantha Irvin announced to the world that she had left WWE and would no longer serve as the Monday Night Raw ring announcer. With unique introductions, passion and a great vocal range from her singing background, many have been complimentary of Irvin’s work over the years and will be missed. However, if it were up to Irvin, she would never have been an announcer in the first place.

Responding to comments on her Instagram post from earlier in the week that confirmed her exit, Irvin admitted that she doesn’t like announcing and wanted to be an onscreen manager instead:

“I don’t like announcing. I’m serious! Announcing was only supposed to be my way in. I wanted to manage, maybe even become general manager one day. But WWE saw no other future for me besides announcer. I love watching the action but I don’t love being an announcer.”

It has been previously reported that Irvin did originally train to be a wrestler before being put into the ring announcer role. In response to another comment who blamed her fiance Ricochet for leaving the company, Irivin said the following:

“My husband is a millionaire so yes, I don’t have to do a job I don’t like anymore,”

Cody Rhodes Praises Samantha Irvin

One of Irvin’s most memorable calls will be her emotional announcement that Cody Rhodes had defeated Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40 to become the new Undisputed Champion. In a recent interview with The Schmo, Rhodes wished Irvin well in whatever comes next in her career:

“What a wonderful…I feel like time will tell. In our business, five or ten years after somebody is gone, you hear ‘how wonderful. How amazing.’ She is top five, maybe top three. Samantha was just killing it. I know with her and WWE, they left on good terms. That’s amazing because the door is open in case she ever wants to come back. I’ve never watched WrestleMania 40 back, but I can hear it still in terms of her very emotional announcement of (me) winning the WWE Championship. That’s going to forever be linked to me. Hats off to Samantha. That’s one of my homies and I hope to see her down the road. Whatever she does, if you heard her voice, she’s going to kill it.”
