After 5 years away, Rusev is now back in WWE, making his return on the Raw after WrestleMania.
On the biggest Raw of the year, new Tag Team Champions The New Day celebrated their victory before being interrupted by Otis, Akira Tozawa and Maxxine Dupri. It appeared that a match was about to take place between the 2 teams but then the lights went out. When the lights came back on, Rusev’s name flashed up on the Tron and The Bulgarian Brute made his way to the ring. The former United States Champion attacked Otis and Tozawa and stood tall to signal his return to the company.
Previously a part of WWE, Rusev was released from his contract back in 2020. Later that year, the former United States Champion made his AEW debut as Miro. Winning the TNT Championship once, Miro last competed at Worlds End 2023 and was released from his contract in February 2025, setting up an eventual return that was heavily rumoured for weeks.
Rusev Signs Multi-Year Deal
More information on the returning WWE star’s contract has been reported by Deadline. It is reported that Rusev has signed a 2-year deal with the company while his wife and former manager CJ Perry [Lana] is under a legends deal. Both deals were negotiated by their agents Paradigm.
