Rumoured Oba Femi WrestleMania 42 Match Not Locked In

The apparent WrestleMania 42 direction for Oba Femi is not said to be 100% despite what happened at the Royal Rumble.

The former NXT Champion entered the Men’s match at the number one spot. Having a strong showing right from the off, Femi picked up 5 eliminations in the match, including Bron Breakker, who was a strong favourite to do well in the main event.

After lasting 39 minutes, Femi was dumped out of the ring by Brock Lesnar. With this in mind, fans are expecting to see the two powerhouses collide at WrestleMania 42 in what is being viewed as a dream match. However, following the latest update, the match may not be a certainty.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Femi vs. Lesnar was one of the matches that was not completely confirmed:

“That’s not 100 percent by the way…it could happen. I’m not saying it’s not happening. I’m just saying that I was told this one’s not 100 per cent, and that was the Lesnar and Oba Femi match,”

The 5 stars the Femi eliminated from the Rumble were Bron Breakker, Solo Sikoa, Rey Mysterio, Rusev and Matt Cardona.

WrestleMania 42 Looks Set To Be First For Oba Femi

Although not everyone can compete on the WrestleMania card, fans are hoping that Femi will be placed into a major match given his popularity in NXT and being positioned as a threat from the outset.

Currently, the only match officially announced for WrestleMania 2026 is CM Punk putting his World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Royal Rumble winner Roman Reigns. Women’s Royal Rumble winner Liv Morgan is also set to make her decision soon.
