WWE are looking to secure as many Hall of Famers and legends as possible for WrestleMania 40.
Due to the event being a landmark number and will likely pay homage to the past 39 events that have taken place, some of the biggest names in the wrestling world have already been confirmed for the event. With The Rock and Roman Reigns teaming up on night one to take on Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins, 3 of the biggest stars in WWE and one of the biggest stars in Hollywood have already made the biggest event on the professional wrestling calendar feel even bigger. However, due to recent reports, expect to see multiple blasts from the past.
As reported by PWInsider [published by WrestlePurists], there have been talks to bring in Steve Austin for the event, which had also been alluded to with the convenient placement of a truck on the March 25th edition of Raw that saw Austin and Cena’s faces in the background of The Rock’s beatdown of Cody Rhodes. Along with Austin, there have been talks internally to have Hulk Hogan be a part of WrestleMania week.
A previous report in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter previously stated that Austin is in discussions for the event along with John Cena. Unlike the other names, Cena will be limited with what he can do due to insurance in place for Hollywood projects.
