Ronda Rousey, Will Ospreay and Adam Copeland were among the many surprises at AEW Revolution to make the company’s first pay-per-view of the year a very newsworthy show.
Rousey made her shock appearance shortly after Toni Storm defeated Marina Shafir in a match where everyone was banned from ringside. As Storm celebrated her victory on top of the ramp, Rousey stormed to the ring from the crowd. Storm returned to the ring and the 2 exchanged words before both were separated by security.
This was Rousey’s first appearance in a pro wrestling ring since she and Shafir teamed up for a match in Ring of Honor back in late 2023, which is owned by AEW. The former MMA fighters teamed up to take on Athena and Billie Starkz. Rousey will be returning to MMA later in the year to take on Gina Carano.
Ronda Rousey Makes Unannounced AEW Appearance – Who Else Turned Up?
Rousey was not the only name to shock the fans with their presence at the PPV in Los Angeles. Following the opening match of the show that saw FTR defeat The Young Bucks to retain the Tag Team Championships, Adam Copeland and Christian Cage made their return to TV for the first time since All Out 2025. Getting revenge on FTR after Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler attacked Cope’s wife Beth, the veterans attacked FTR to stand tall before holding up the Tag Titles to lead to a standoff with the 4 men.
Later in the show, Will Ospreay made his return from injury to take out Jon Moxley, PAC, Wheeler Yuta, and Daniel Garcia after being attacked by The Deathriders back at Forbidden Door in August 2025. Ospreay was written off TV as he required neck surgery.
Rounding out the returns, Kenny Omega saved Brody King from a post-match attack from Swerve Strickland after the former World Champion defeated King. Omega was written off TV by Strickland following their match on Dynamite a few weeks ago.
