Ronda Rousey has announced that she won’t be returning to WWE for the foreseeable future.
The former Women’s Champion made the announcement on Instagram, praising SummerSlam opponent Shayna Baszler and stating that there is “No reason to stay” in the promotion.
Rousey’s final appearance would see her face off against Baszler in an MMA rules match, having the match that she always wanted to have since signing with the promotion. While the match had the right idea, the execution could have been better, as multiple “Boring” chants could be heard throughout Ford Field at SummerSlam.
The former UFC Champion’s second run in WWE began at the 2022 Royal Rumble, where the surprise appearance by Rousey at number 27 would be the lucky number, allowing Rousey to pick up the victory.
A year and a half run would follow, with 2 reigns as SmackDown Women’s Champion and once as Women’s Tag Team Champion alongside Baszler.
