Rey Mysterio will seemingly be the next challenger for Roman Reigns. On the June 11th episode of SmackDown, Mysterio challenged the Universal Champion to a match at Hell in A Cell inside the steel structure.
Rey called out the head of the table as a response to last week’s episode of SmackDown, where Reigns viciously attacked the Mysterios. Rey acknowledged Roman as somebody that he wants to fight inside of Hell in A Cell. While the challenge was not accepted by Reigns, expect a response on the go-home episode next week. This is because WWE do not typically hint at storylines or matches that will not take place. Instead of accepting the challenge, a brawl ensued between the Mysterios and Roman. The closing angle being The Tribal Chief throwing Dominik outside of the ring.
It has not been confirmed whether this match will be for the Universal Championship. If the match is confirmed, this will be the first time ever that Rey Mysterio has competed in a Hell in A Cell match throughout his lengthy career. For Roman Reigns, this would be his 5th cell match. Features of Wrestling will report when this match has been confirmed for the June 20th pay per view event.
