Rhea Ripley Wins Women's Elimination Chamber; Earns Title Match At WrestleMania 42

Rhea Ripley was the last woman standing inside the Elimination Chamber, and will go on to fight for the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 42.

Competing in the opening match of the February 28 Premium Live Event, Ripley outlasted Kiana James, Alexa Bliss, Tiffany Stratton, Asuka and Raquel Rodriguez to earn her title match in Las Vegas in April. Ripley entered the match 5th and eliminated Stratton to earn the victory.

James picked up the first elimination by capitalising on Bliss being misted by Asuka, but Rodriguez hit the Tejana Bomb on Asuka onto James to eliminate them both simultaneously. Stratton took Rodriguez out of the match to leave her and Ripley to battle it out in the closing stages. Both women had a competitive back-and-forth encounter, but Ripley hit the riptide to win the match for the first time in her career. After the match, Jade Cargill was seen in the crowd applauding Ripley and held her championship in the air.

The elimination order was as follows:

  • Kiana James eliminated Alexa Bliss
  • Raquel Rodriguez eliminated Kiana James
  • Raquel Rodriguez eliminated Asuka
  • Tiffany Stratton eliminated Raquel Rodriguez
  • Rhea Ripley eliminated Tiffany Stratton to win the match

Currently, Ripley is scheduled to face WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill for the title at WrestleMania 42, provided that Cargill remains champion until the biggest show of the year. If the match does take place, this will be the first time that Ripley and Cargill have gone one-on-one. Ripley and IYO SKY recently lost their Women’s Tag Team Championships to Nia Jax and Lash Legend on the SmackDown before the show.
