Randy Orton Returns To The Ring At WWE Survivor Series

Randy Orton had his first WWE match in over 18 months at Survivor Series.

Competing in the main event of the show, Orton competed in the Men’s WarGames match to help secure a victory for his team.

It was discussed throughout the night by Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn and Jey Uso that Orton was not in the building. Rhodes reassured his team that The Viper would be back, but still was nowhere to be seen when it was time for the main event.

Team Rhodes made their way to the entrance ramp to get in their WarGames cage, still one man short. As the WarGames match progressed and it was time for Orton to enter, no music played. Shortly afterwards, Rhea Ripley ran down the ramp with a Money in the Bank briefcase and a referee, signalling it was time for Damian Priest to cash in on Rollins. Just as it was about to be official, Orton’s music hit to a thunderous ovation from the Chicago crowd.

Orton had a return to form and played all the hits to the crowd’s delight. Orton hit an RKO onto Dominik Mysterio before staring down Jey Uso, the man responsible for Orton’s 18-month absence. Making an impact in the closing moments, JD McDonagh was thrown off the cage into an RKO by Orton before the match came to a close when Rhodes pinned Damian Priest.

Orton last competed on SmackDown back in May 2022, losing the Raw Tag Team Championships alongside Matt Riddle to The Usos.

This was not the only major return on the night, as CM Punk also returned to WWE.
