Randy Orton has addressed the rumours that he may be out of action with a serious injury.
On May 17, Dave Meltzer reported on the Wrestling Observer Radio that Orton has been away from TV as he is dealing with a serious back injury. Orton has been away from TV since the main event of WrestleMania 42 night 1. Losing to Cody Rhodes in the main event and failing to capture the WWE Championship, Orton attacked Rhodes after the match, delivering a punt to The American Nightmare. Throughout the match, commentary also noted that Orton was dealing with the issue. Additionally, Orton’s injury was reported ahead of time.
On social media, Orton directly responded to the report. Dismissing that he is dealing with an injury, the 14-time World Champion stated that he was “milking” his time away. Orton added that he is trying to enjoy his summer before making his eventual return.
“Lmao just milking it guys, leave me alone I’m trying to enjoy my summer before I come back and take that #15,”
Randy Orton Previously Dealt With Career-Threatening Injury
If Orton is injured, this is not the first time that he has had to deal with significant time away. Back in May 2022, Orton was sidelined with a back injury that required surgery. While Orton did make his return at Survivor Series 2023, there were rumours that Orton’s in-ring career could be over.
Orton, who recently turned 46, has made no indication that he is looking to wind down his career anytime soon. Orton’s return date remains unknown at this time.
