Raja Jackson has begun his jail sentence following a court appearance in relation to the Syko Stu incident that occurred in August 2025.
Jackson, who is the son of former UFC fighter Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, was in attendance at the KnokX Pro Wrestling event in California last year. Jackson was supposed to get involved in a match that featured Syko Stu, real name Stuart Smith. However, during Jackson’s involvement, he began to punch Smith legitimately in the face multiple times. The repeated punches from Jackson caused a head injury and facial fracture. Smith has not been able to work for a year due to injuries related to the assault.
In May 2026, Jackson agreed to plead no contest to battery. Jackson must serve 90 days in jail, spend two years on probation, and pay Smith $81,000.
Jackson’s attorney, Michael Freedman, said Jackson will likely be released from jail in September 2026, when the next hearing is scheduled.
Stuart Smith Issues Statement In Court On Raja Jackson Incident
Speaking in court at the hearing, Smith stated that he holds no grudges against Jackson, nor is he looking for revenge:
“What happened affected me deeply and I do not minimize the seriousness of it,” Smith said in court on Thursday. “The injuries I suffered led to a long and difficult recovery that I am still trying to recover from, including treatment for a severe traumatic brain injury, a shattered maxilla and a bone graft procedure.
I do not stand here with hatred (or) a desire for revenge. I hold no grudges against Mr. Jackson. People can make terrible decisions in difficult moments.”
Jackson did not speak at the court appearance.
