Positive Update On Jade Cargill Following Injury Scare On WWE SmackDown

WWE star Jade Cargill looks to have escaped serious injury following her recent match on SmackDown.

Competing in the main event of the September 26 broadcast, Cargill and Nia Jax both challenged Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women’s Championship, which would also see the winner advance to Crown Jewel to face Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer for the Women’s Crown Jewel Championship.

The match became infamous for 2 reasons. On top of a botched pin that saw Jax failing to kick out when Stratton pinned her, forcing the referee to stop her count, Cargill was sent headfirst into the steel steps by Jax. With blood pouring from Cargill’s head, fans were immediately concerned for her well-being. The following day, the former Women’s Tag Team Champion took to social media to detail the aftereffects:

Due to the graphic injury, there was speculation that Cargill may require reconstructive surgery and could miss a significant amount of time. However, according to the latest update, the SmackDown star appears to have escaped any serious damage.

Jade Cargill Avoids Serious Injury

As reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsiderCargill only required stitches on the wound and did not need any further treatment. It is also added that those within the company expect to see Cargill back in action within a few weeks, with there being no indication that she has been pulled from touring. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select has added that Cargill seemed physically ok and in good spirits after the show.

Despite the nasty-looking cut, Cargill was able to finish the match, including one spot where she was able to deliver a Samoan Drop onto Nia Jax onto the steel steps at ringside following the injury occurring.

The former AEW star has now been a part of the WWE roster for more than 2 years, and has been regularly presented as one of the top stars in the women’s division. Along with multiple reigns as Women’s Tag Team Champion, Cargill also won the 2025 Queen of the Ring tournament.
