Paul Heyman is the first inductee into the 2024 WWE Hall of Fame Class.
First announced by the Associated Press and later WWE, Heyman will be one of many names recognised for their contributions to wrestling over WrestleMania weekend. With the event taking place in Philadelphia, the spiritual home of ECW, there are few better places for The Wiseman to be acknowledged.
Beginning in WCW, Heyman would go on to transform ECW into the cult extreme brand it became. Anti-establishment and rock and roll, the influence of the stipulations and characters are still seen in modern wrestling today, with many of the ECW misfits going on to have successful careers elsewhere.
Joining WWE in 2001, Heyman would revive the extreme brand as part of the Invasion era with WCW. One year later and Heyman would begin what he would be known for today, being an advocate for the top star in the business. Beginning with Brock Lesnar, The Paul Heyman Guy became a badge of honour in wrestling with the likes of Kurt Angle, Big Show, CM Punk and now Roman Reigns all receiving the honour. Along with his contributions on screen, Heyman’s brilliant mind helped to shape some legendary angles and his amazing promo skills helped to catapult Superstars to the next stage of their careers.
Be it through great creative, great advice or being in the same ring, a lot of the stars of past, present and future owe a lot to the brilliant wrestling mind of Heyman.
When Will Paul Heyman Be Inducted?
The 2024 ceremony takes place on Friday, April 5th at the Wells Fargo Arena following the final episode of SmackDown before WrestleMania 40. It has not been stated who will induct Heyman into the Hall of Fame.
Features of Wrestling would like to congratulate Paul Heyman on his upcoming induction.
