Karrion Kross will defend his NXT Championship in a fatal 5 way at NXT TakeOver: In Your House. The original plan was a singles match, with Kross taking on the winner of the triple threat between Kyle O’Reilly, Johnny Gargano and Pete Dunne. However, during the match, Adam Cole interfered with a steel chair and laid out all three competitors. Despite a triple threat being no disqualification, the match was thrown out by NXT General Manager William Regal.
Later on in the show, Cole confronted the NXT Champion. William Regal objected to this, as Adam was trying to get a singles match with Karrion Kross. Instead, Kross stated that he wanted all the challengers for NXT TakeOver: In Your House. Regal agreed to the fatal 5 way. The match for the June 13th event is as follows:
Karrion Kross (c) vs. Adam Cole vs. Kyle O’Reilly vs. Pete Dunne vs. Johnny Gargano – Fatal 5 way match for the NXT Championship.
