Another match has been added to the July 12 WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event card.
On the June 30 WWE Raw, Seth Rollins interrupted Gunther, who was mocking Goldberg ahead of his match with the Hall of the Famer at the upcoming special. Rollins stated that he made the trip to Saudi Arabia to ensure that CM Punk would not win the WWE Championship, prompting Punk to try and get revenge on The Visionary. As Rollins fled through the crowd, he was attacked by LA Knight, who had been previously taken out by Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker. It was later announced that Knight would take on Rollins at the next Saturday Night’s Main Event special in Atlanta, Georgia.
As previously noted, the other match on the card will see World Heavyweight Champion Gunther put his title on the line against Goldberg in what will be the Hall of Famer’s final match. The Ring General has mocked Goldberg’s abilities for weeks, and is looking to embarrass the WCW legend on July 12.
The Updated Line-Up For WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event Is As Follows:
- Gunther (c) vs. Goldberg – Singles match for the World Heavyweight Championship. This will also be Goldberg’s retirement match.
- Seth Rollins vs. LA Knight
WWE Night of Champions will air on Peacock in the United States and on YouTube internationally.
