New Championship Designs Unveiled On WWE NXT

Shawn Michaels and Triple H kicked off WWE NXT with some big news.

The October 1st episode of NXT aired live from Chicago and was also the premiere episode of the developmental brand on the CW Network. The show had a facelift ahead of time with a new logo and new presentation. Wasting little time, Michaels stated that as they are on a new network then they should have some new titles, which were quickly revealed with the updated logo on the front and looked more defined than the previous design.

As The Heartbreak Kid looked to close out the segment by saying he had one question, Triple H showed up to the ring unannounced and asked the crowd “Are you ready?”

In media interviews before the show, Shawn Michaels teased that big things and big surprises were coming to NXT in the future.

Major Title Change Took Place On WWE NXT

Although Ethan Page and Roxane Perez were presented with new championships, only one was able to walk out of Chicago the new champion when all was said and done in Chicago. Despite the fact that many expected Giulia to defeat Perez, a returning Cora Jade aligned with her former rival to allow Perez to remain the champion. Jade had been out of action for the best part of a year due to a torn ACL.

The same could not be said for Page as he lost the NXT championship to Ethan Page in the main event of the show. With CM Punk acting as special guest referee, Williams hit the Trick Shot to become a two-time NXT Champion.
