The North American Championship changed hands on the June 29th edition of NXT. Isaiah “Swerve” Scott defeated Bronson Reed in the main event of the show. This championship is the first for Scott since signing for WWE. Isaiah won the match by hitting a 450 onto the now former champion. There was also interference from Hit Row members “Top Dolla” AJ Francis, Ashante “Thee” Adonis and “B-Fab” Briana Brandy.
This marks the end of a relatively short reign as North American Champion for Bronson Reed. The previous title change occurred on the May 18th edition of NXT. Reed won his championship by defeating Johnny Gargano inside of a steel cage:
The title change has been timed well. The inaugural North American Champion Adam Cole recently spoke highly of Isaiah “Swerve” Scott in his appearance on the After The Bell podcast. For former champion Reed, he has posted cryptic message on Twitter to address the recent loss and his future:
My fans, my friends, my family.
— BIG BRONSON REED (@BRONSONISHERE) June 30, 2021
My wife.
I failed you.
I'm sorry.
Now what?@WWENXT
The tweet creates speculation about where Reed will go to next. It should be noted that Bronson Reed was on the most recent episode of WWE Main Event. On the show, Reed defeated Drew Gulak. More information on the match can be found here.
