Multiple WWE NXT Stars Make Surprise Appearances At TNA Genesis

The WWE NXT and TNA partnership was in full effect at the Genesis pay-per-view with multiple shock appearances.

The WWE NXT and TNA partnership was in full effect at the Genesis pay-per-view on January 19th.

A few days before the show, news broke that WWE and TNA had come to terms on a new multi-year agreement that would see talent exchanges continue and stars from both companies given more opportunities as a result. Following the announcement, the Genesis poster was updated with the NXT logo, signalling the arrival of some familiar faces at the event.

Mirroring the events that took place on the January 14th episode of NXT, Cora Jade made a shock appearance to confront Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich after Slamovich retained the title over Rosemary in a Clockwork Orange House of Fun match. Jade stared down Slamovich to signify that Cade would challenge for the gold soon.

WWE NXT Surprises Continue

Also on the show, NXT Tag Team Champions Nathan Frazier and Axiom were ringside for the TNA Tag Team Championship match between The Rascalz and The Hardys. The champions were accidentally taken out by Trey Miguel and will put the titles on the line against The Rascalz on the January 23rd live episode of Impact.

Rounding out the appearances, Ashante “Thee” Adonis made a surprise appearance on the pre-show and was beaten by Jake Something in under 4 minutes.

The main event of TNA Genesis saw Joe Hendry emerge victorious as the new World Champion.
