John Cena vs. Randy Orton Announced For WWE Backlash

Another title match and more have been added to the WWE Backlash card, which will be main evented by John Cena vs. Randy Orton for the Undisputed Championship.

On the April 28th Raw, the Backlash card continued to take shape with 2 more matches announced for the show. First, Becky Lynch explained her heel turn on Lyra Valkyria the previous week, which led to Valkyria interrupting The Man. It was later made official that Valkyria would put her Women’s Intercontinental Championship on the line against Lynch at the Premium Live Event.

On the Raw after Mania, an irate Gunther choked out Pat McAfee following his loss to Jey Uso at WrestleMania. On the following episode of Raw, McAfee asked for Gunther’s suspension to be lifted so that he could face The Ring General. Guest General Manager Nick Aldis responded that the suspension would be lifted for Backlash.

The new matches join John Cena vs. Randy Orton, which will be Cena’s first defence since winning the title for the 17th time at WrestleMania.
