Matt Hardy Celebrates Huge Wrestling Milestone

TNA star and tag team legend Matt Hardy has acknowledged a major accomplishment in his wrestling career.

In a recent post on social media, Hardy noted that it has been 33 years since he and his brother Jeff first competed inside a wrestling ring. Along with posting pictures of their wrestling past and present, Hardy thanked the fans and stated that it is time for them to work on year 34, meaning that they are not thinking about retirement just yet:

Today marks 33 full years that Jeff & I have been pro wrestlers. October 15th, 1992 was our first match in Carthage, NC. Here is our first promo pic, followed by our most recent pic, taken at BFG on Sunday. If you told young 1992 us we would experience all the success we have, we wouldn’t have believed it.

My brother & I are both so grateful. Grateful for our loyal & dieHARDY fanbase. Grateful for the opportunities we’ve earned & been given. Grateful to God we’re as healthy as we are after all the punishment we’ve put our bodies thru. Grateful we’ve been able to inspire multiple generations.

Thank you for letting these 2 kids from Cameron, NC live their childhood dreams & thrive in life. We are both SO blessed. With that said, it’s time to go to work in year number 34.

Arguably one of the most influential tag teams in pro wrestling history, The Hardys have won championships all over the world in just about every major promotion, while also currently reigning as the TNA and NXT Tag Team Champions. As well as being one of the most decorated tag teams, both Matt and Jeff have found success as singles wrestlers with multiple individual titles to their name.

Matt Hardy And Jeff Hardy Recently Competed In Historic Wrestling Match

At Bound For Glory 2025, The Hardys faced off against one their greatest rivals, Team 3D, in what was Bubba Ray and D-Von’s speciality, a tables match. With Matt and Jeff winning the match to retain the TNA and NXT Tag Titles, Team 3D took off their wrestling boots after the match and gave them to The Hardys, signalling that they have now retired from wrestling.

The Hardys are set to defend the NXT Tag Titles against Darkstate at Halloween Havoc on October 25.
