The Universal Championship Hell In A Cell match has been moved to the go-home SmackDown. Roman Reigns was due to defend his title against challenger Rey Mysterio at the pay per view on the same name. Instead, the match will now take place on the June 18th edition of Friday Night SmackDown. WWE have confirmed the news on their social media:
BREAKING: @reymysterio will now challenge @WWERomanReigns for the #UniversalTitle inside #HellInACell TOMORROW on #SmackDown! @HeymanHustle https://t.co/YQF30WNyxM

The storyline reason for the change is that Rey can’t wait until Sunday to get his hands on the Universal Champion. The master of the 619 laid out the following challenge earlier in the day:
It’s eating me up inside. I can’t wait any longer. I want the Hell In A Cell match tomorrow night. @WWERomanReigns @HeymanHustle
— ♛Rey Mysterio❔ (@reymysterio) June 18, 2021
Reigns responded to the tweet by accepting his challenge. There has been no backstage reason as to why this match has been changed to network TV.
Sunday. Friday. Any day.

Makes no difference to me.
It'll be my pleasure to disgrace what's left of your family name tomorrow night inside Hell in a Cell!
My Special Counsel @HeymanHustle will handle the paperwork.
I’ll PERSONALLY handle the warfare! @WWE #Smackdown https://t.co/DSzd33gluA
The moving of the Hell In A Cell match raises some interesting points. Firstly, this will be the first time ever that a Hell in A Cell match has ever taken place on the blue brand. Secondly, at the time of writing, only one match at the pay per view is due to take place inside of the structure. WWE Champion Bobby Lashley vs. Drew McIntyre is the only cell match scheduled for June 20th. In recent years, WWE have held 2 or 3 matches inside the steel structure on their pay per view of the same name.
