A theory regarding Ludwig Kaiser [Marcel Barthel] and ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] is believed to have been a planted story, according to those within WWE.
Kaiser, who currently portrays El Grande Americano on WWE and AAA TV, was arrested in late April on charges of battery. According to police reports, Barthel and his girlfriend Andrea Bazarte were asked to stop being overly intimate in an elevator, resulting in a male being attacked by the WWE star.
Following the arrest, rumours began to circulate online that the male who was assaulted made comments to the effect of “ICE should deport [Bazarte],” causing Barthel to react. However, a follow-up report believes this to not be the case.
As reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, the story of Barthel defending himself and his girlfriend from the ICE comments was planted within WWE. It is also added that “an unfamiliar number” of people reached out to wrestling media about the story, as opposed to WWE or the couple.
Ludwig Kaiser Did Not React To ICE Comments
Kaiser as El Grande Americano is set to face “The OG” El Grande Americano [Chad Gable] in a mask vs. mask match at AAA Noche de Los Grandes. Currently the biggest feud in AAA, the match is likely to main event. Kaiser is not expected to miss the match, or have travel restricted following the incident.
Fightful Select adds that WWE expect the charges to be eventually dismissed, and that Kaiser has no heat in the company.
