The highly anticipated Liv Morgan Hollywood role has been revealed after the WWE star made the announcement earlier in the week.
As announced by Deadline on April 30th, Morgan joins the cast of Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo, which will also star Shun Oguri [Godzilla v. Kong, No Longer Human] and Lily James [Pam and Tommy, Yesterday]. The film will be directed by Takashi Miike, who previously directed 13 Assassins.
The film will be produced by Neon, which was also the studio behind Academy Award Best Picture winners Parasite and Anora.
According to the article, Morgan will play a politician’s daughter who has disappeared with James and Oguri set to investigate:
Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo will follow the Bad Lieutenant (Oguri), a corrupt gambler in the Metropolitan Police Force, who finds himself thrown into a tangled case after an enigmatic FBI agent (James) arrives in Tokyo to investigate the disappearance of a politician’s daughter (Morgan). Meanwhile, a deviant killer operating in the yakuza underworld seems to be shadowing their moves.
The film is set for theatrical release in North America. Filming is set to begin shortly as Morgan was seen asking for time off on the April 28th episode of Raw.
This will be Morgan’s second appearance in a motion picture as she previously starred in the 2023 movie The Kill Room. Morgan has also previously starred in reality TV series along with the horror series Chucky.
Liv Morgan Reigns As Champion Once More
Morgan is currently one half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions with Raquel Rodriguez. The champions did lose the titles at WrestleMania 41 to Lyra Valkyria and a returning Becky Lynch but won the championships back on the Raw after Mania.
