LA Knight is now a two-time United States Champion.
Competing in the main event of the March 7th episode of SmackDown, Knight defeated Shinsuke Nakamura to win back the US title. The closing moments of the match saw Nakamura attempt to mist Knight but instead hit the referee. With no official, Nakamura brought in a chair to attack Knight but was cut off by the challenger. Knight hit a BFT onto the chair to pick up the victory and in the process the championship.
The victory brings to an end Nakamura’s reign at 97 days, which was also his third reign with the gold. Nakamura defeated Knight back at Survivor Series to win the championship shortly after returning to TV from hiatus. Knight first won the championship back at SummerSlam by defeating Logan Paul.
LA Knight Wins Gold Again
Following his main roster call-up, Knight was a part of many major title matches, including against then Undipusted Champion Roman Reigns, but would keep coming up short despite the fans calling for the company to pull the trigger on The Megastar. Unsurprisingly, the defeat over Logan Paul at SummerSlam 2024 received a very positive reaction from the fans.
