Kota Ibsuhi Stretchered Out Of AEW Taping

Kota Ibushi seemingly suffered a serious injury during his latest AEW match.

Competing against Josh Alexander at the latest Collision taping, which is set to air on October 11, fans in attendance stated that Ibushi fell off the top rope to the outside of the ring as his leg appeared to give out. The former IWGP Heavyweight Champion was unable to answer the referee’s count, meaning that Alexander won the match via count-out.

Kenny Omega came out to fight off members of The Don Callis Family before checking on Ibsuhi, who was later taken to the back on a stretcher. The lights then went down in the venue as Tony Khan addressed the crowd, thanking them for being respectful of the situation that occurred.

While it is unknown at the time of writing how severe the injury is, Mike Johnson of PWInsider has reported that word going around backstage is that Ibushi may have suffered a broken femur, but there has been no official announcement.

Kota Ibushi Injured Following Latest AEW Return

Ibushi suffered the injury 5 matches after making his return to AEW back in June 2025. Following 2 matches on Dynamite against Trent Berett and Kazuchika Okada, the former IWGP World Champion also competed in the Casino Gauntlet at All In: Texas, and was part of the winning team in the lights out steel cage match that took place at Forbidden Door.

Features of Wrestling would like to wish Kota Ibushi a full and speedy recovery.
