John Cena Wins WWE Elimination Chamber Match & Shockingly Turns Heel

With John Cena retiring in 2025, another WWE star has made it clear that they want a match against the 16 time World Champion.

John Cena will headline WrestleMania in what will be his final appearance at the biggest show of the year as an in-ring competitor, but he won’t be cheered heading into the match.

Competing in the main event of Elimination Chamber, Cena was the last man standing over Drew McIntyre, Damian Priest, Logan Paul, Seth Rollins and CM Punk to win the match and in the process an opportunity at the Undisputed Championship and a shot at winning the record-breaking 17th World Championship.

McIntyre and Rollins started the match off followed by Priest. Paul entered the match4th followed by Cena and finally Punk. McIntyre was eliminated first following a shock roll-up from Priest but attacked Priest after the match. Priest was eliminated soon afterwards after Paul hit a frog splash from the top of the Chamber pod. Paul was eliminated next after he was hit with a GTS from Punk. Rollins was finally eliminated after being hit with a GTS and an AA, leaving it down to Punk and Cena.

The closing stages of the match saw an already eliminated Rollins hit a Stomp onto Punk, allowing Cena to lock in the GTS. Punk passed out to give Cena the victory and a shot at Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41. While all seemed friendly after the match, what happened next shocked the world.

John Cena Turns Heel

After the Chamber match, Cody Rhodes made his way to the ring to congratulate Cena and address their upcoming clash at WrestleMania 41. The celebrations were interrupted by The Rock, who demanded Rhodes make his decision while also accompanied by Travis Scott. As Rock demanded Rhodes sell his soul, Rhodes responded “Go f*ck yourself” to The Rock and embraced Cena. However, following a signal from The Rock, Cena brutally attacked Rhodes with the champion’s watch and the championship, busting open Rhodes in the process. A further beatdown ensued with Rhodes whipped with The Rock’s weight belt. Rock, Cena and Scott stood over a fallen Rhodes to close out the show.
