Jim Ross Is Cancer Free, Addresses Possible AEW All In Appearance

Jim Ross has shared the good news that his cancer is gone and has also spoken about possibly appearing at AEW All In next month.

AEW announcer Jim Ross has given the fans good news as his cancer has gone.

Providing the update on his Grilling JR podcast, Ross, 73, stated that his recent cancer surgery was successful and that he is feeling much better:

“You never know about tomorrow. The cancer’s gone, which I’m very happy to say,” Ross shared. “So you know, I’m blessed that my health has returned, and I’m feeling pretty damn good.”

Legendary announcer JR underwent surgery in late May, removing the cancer from 2 places. After first providing the update that the surgery was a success, the Hall of Famer later added that he was back at home and beginning the recovery process.

With Ross being the voice of many fans’ childhoods and calling some of the biggest matches in pro wrestling history, social media was flooded with well-wishes for the commentator when news broke about his latest health issue. Addressing the support he has received, Ross gave a special mention to AEW President Tony Khan and how well he has been taken care of by the pro wrestling promotion:

“I’m very indebted to AEW for hiring me, bringing me on board, and Tony Khan has been amazingly wonderful during my illness,” he stated. “He supported me wholeheartedly and I really do appreciate that. That’s the way a boss should act, should do is take care of your people. And Tony Khan has certainly taken good care of me, and I plan on being reciprocal and doing my best to take care of him in my role going forward.”

Will Jim Ross Be At AEW All In?

Prior to the cancer diagnosis, Ross mainly appeared at AEW pay-per-views and called the action for the final few matches on the show. However, following recent health issues, the legendary announcer has remained off TV. With the biggest show on the AEW calendar, All In: Texas, set to take place on July 12, fans are hoping that Ross could make an appearance at the event. When addressing his future plans, the Hall of Famer noted that he intends to get back to work sooner rather than later and intends to be in Texas for the big event:

“No, just get back to work,” Ross said was his main goal. “Yeah, I’m tired of sitting at home, and I’m excited about the opportunities that await. I am feeling better. My plan is to be in Dallas for the big event [AEW All In].”

Ross has been with AEW since day 1, signing with the company back in 2019.

Features of Wrestling continues to send well wishes to Jim Ross as he continues his recovery.
