More details have been provided about the agreement between WWE and Las Vegas to host WrestleMania 41.
Following months of speculation and uncertainty, it was finally announced that Vegas would be the host of the 2025 WrestleMania. The announcement was made shortly after Backlash that the gambling capital of the world would see the event come to the city over Easter weekend, which reportedly was the agreed-upon date due to Las Vegas being quieter around that weekend.
In a new report by 8 News Now, it is stated that the cost to host the event was $5 million:
“the LVCVA approved $5 million for World Wrestling Entertainment to sponsor the event, which is expected to bring a massive influx of traffic to the Las Vegas Strip at a perennially slow time for the city.”
Additionally, vice president of sports and special events for the LVCVA Lisa Motley anticipates that more than 180,000 fans will descend on the city over the weekend and will occupy around 145,000 rooms to bring a massive boost to the local economy. In terms of where the go-home SmackDown and the Raw after Mania will take place, Motley has stated that they will emanate from MGM Resorts.
