Gunther Names Next WWE Veteran He Wants To Retire

WWE star Gunther has named his choice for the next veteran wrestler he wants to see retire.

The former World Champion has recently garnered a reputation for being the one to bring legendary careers to an end. While Gunther’s matches against Goldberg and John Cena in 2025 were each of the respective veteran’s final matches regardless of the result, things were different with AJ Styles. At the 2026 Royal Rumble, Gunther forced Styles to pass out in a match where The Phenomenal One’s career was on the line. As Styles lost, he was forced to retire.

With The Ring General being the final opponent for the aforementioned westlers, fans are expecting to see the Raw star face more tenured stars in the future, likely with their careers at stake. During a recent interview, fans may have an idea as to who will be next for the career killer.

“There’s A Big Amount Of People To Choose From”: Gunther On Potential Veteran To Wrestle

While appearing on The Morning Shift, Gunther was asked which legend he had his sights set on next. When Brock Lesnar’s name was brought up, the former World Champion agreed that it would be a good choice:

“That’s a good one, right? We’ll see. I think there are a bunch of examples of people who overstay their welcome, who just hang on a little bit too much, who chase one moment too much. It seems like there is a big amount of people to choose from.”

Gunther failed to qualify for the Elimination Chamber as he was unable to get the victory in his qualifying match that also featured Dominik Mysterio and Je’Von Evans, which saw Evans advance to the Premium Live Event. Lesnar is scheduled to be a part of the next episode of Raw on February 23, which will also be the final episode of the show before Elimination Chamber.
