Glenn Jacobs [Kane] Speaks Out On Mick Foley Cutting Ties With WWE

Glenn Jacobs, who had a successful career in WWE as Kane, has commented on Mick Foley choosing to no longer be associated with the company.

On December 16, Foley announced that he would not be making any more appearances for the pro wrestling company, and that he would not be signing a new Legends deal when his current contract expires in 2026. Foley stated that the reason behind the decision was due to WWE’s association with President Donald Trump, noting that Trump’s comments about the death of Rob Reiner and his wife Michele were the final straw.

WWE has been more open with its political views in 2025, as Chief Content Officer Triple H has regularly been seen at The White House. Additionally, former WWE CEO and former wife of Vince McMahon, Linda McMahon, is now a member of Trump’s cabinet.

Jacobs is currently serving as the Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee, and a supporter of Trump. While appearing on Newsmax, the former Kane was asked about Foley’s announcement.

During the interview, Jacobs stated that while he is not surprised by Foley’s decision and believes he is wrong, he acknowledged that Foley is also entitled to his opinion:

“Well, certainly it’s no surprise. I know where Mick (Foley) is at politically and we’ve had our discussions about politics and we’ve always been able to keep them civil and I wish that could happen more on the public platforms altogether. One thing is we live in a country where we are free to disagree about things, and I think Mick is wrong, but nevertheless, he’s entitled to his opinion. I will defend his right to say that, even if I do think he’s wrong and that’s the beauty of America. I wish that would kind of be all over the place as opposed to just wrestling.”

Much like Foley, Jacobs is a former WWE Champion and has also been inducted into the Hall of Fame. Jacobs also appeared alongside The Undertaker to interview Donald Trump on the Six Feet Under podcast while Trump was on the campaign trail ahead of his 2024 election.
