Gabe Kidd has been sidelined until further notice after suffering an injury in his match at the AEW Dynasty pay-per-view on April 12.
Kidd teamed with Clark Connors and David Finlay at Dynasty to defend the Trios Championships against Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong and a returning Kyle O’Reilly. Kidd was checked on by medical staff during the match, but was removed as the contest remained ongoing. Cassidy, Strong and O’Reilly went on to win the match and the titles.
Speaking at the Dynasty post-show press conference, Tony Khan confirmed that Kidd had suffered a shoulder injury and that he was “out indefinitely”:
“Gabe is out indefinitely. He is injured. It’s a shoulder injury. We’ll be evaluating him. I can’t say for sure what the injury is. The doctors are evaluating Gabe for injury.”
Kidd, Finlay and Connors won the Trios Championships on the final Collision before Dynasty. The Dogs only held the titles for 24 hours.
Gabe Kidd Comments On Injury Following AEW Dynasty
Following Dynasty, the Nottingham-born wrestler issued an expletive-filled address to the fans on social media regarding his injury. During the series of Instagram stories, Kidd called out everyone who is not either in The Dogs or Deathriders faction, and stated that Connors and Finlay will be ok while he recovers:
“Listen, I just got back to the hotel. Took them damn near two hours to pop my shoulder back in because I’m so wham! Before we get down to real business, f*ck the doctors, f*ck the security team, f*ck everyone in that building tonight. I was trying to get on the mic. I said, ‘Give me the mic. I’m going to tell these pussies what’s what,’ and they didn’t give it to me. Two 240-pound men dragged me out when my shoulder is on the other side of my shoulder. F*ck the Conglomenation. Fake champions. Paper champions. A bunch of dickheads, bro. F*ck the lot of you. If this didn’t happen, you’d be under the ground right now, you f*cking pricks. Ishii wasn’t even there, but f*ck him, too, and Hologram. Chicken feet, Mark Briscoe, pussy. ‘Mr. Gabe Kidd, what’s next for you?’ I’m gonna go to the toilet and bust a fat sh*t. CC and Finlay is still gonna f*ck everyone up. F*ck every single person that isn’t David Finlay, Clark Connors, or that isn’t one of the Death Riders. F*ck every other person in that category. No updates have been provided on how much time Kidd will miss following Khan’s update.
