The long-term plans for the WWE Crown Jewel Championships have been revealed.
Back at Bad Blood, Triple H appeared live and announced that at the upcoming Premium Live Event on November 2nd the top men’s and women’s champions would face off and the winners of each match would be presented with the Crown Jewel Championships, which were also unveiled in Atlanta.
While the matches are now set and the posters have been unveiled, more clarification has been provided as to what will happen after the shows have concluded.
Speaking about the long-term implications of the titles on Sportskeeda’s Backstage Pass, WrestleVotes stated that much like King of the Ring the championships will be an annual thing and will not be full-time championships. Additionally, much like the commemorative championship Braun Strowman was presented with back in 2018 for winning the Greatest Royal Rumble, this isn’t expected to be brought up again outside of Saudi Arabia:
“The Crown Jewel championships we’re hearing are strictly for Saudi Arabia. They may appear the week after as Raw is in Saudi Arabia, but they are currently scheduled not to be full-time television titles, and they will not be defended throughout the year. More of a winning of the King of the Ring type thing, where you win it, you celebrate, and then we move on. You remember [when] Braun Strowman won the greatest Royal Rumble and was presented a beautiful green title, and we haven’t seen it since. So it’s more of that type of thing.”
“Again, this is something when you have a partnership with the PIF, I believe it’s called over there in Saudi Arabia, they’re going to have requests for WWE of things that they want to see happen. And this Crown Jewel Championship was something that came to them as an idea, and WWE did a great way of figuring out a way to make it work.”
Champion vs. Champion Matches Set For WWE Crown Jewel
Following on from Gunther successfully defending the World Heavyweight Championship on Raw, The Ring General will face off against Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes. For the women’s matches, WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax will face off against Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan.
