Former WWE Star Braun Strowman: “I Changed How Fans See Big Guys in Wrestling”

Former WWE Superstar Braun Strowman has discussed his time in wrestling and how he feels he changed how fans view big men in the industry.

Debuting as a member of The Wyatt Family, the 6-foot-8 and 335-pound Monster became a breakout star when he embarked on a solo career. While most men of Strowman’s size had a greater emphasis on power over speed, the former World Champion was able to move quicker than most the giants and showcase his more athletic side.

Although he is no longer with WWE, Strowman, real name Adam Scherr, will soon be returning to TV screens as part of the new food series Everything on the Menu. While speaking with TMZ ahead of the premiere, the former WWE star first spoke about being given the opportunity to be himself more in the show:

“This is the first time in my life I’ve had a major platform where I get to be Adam Scherr, the man behind the monster. And that’s what’s so special to me because I always joke around if WWE would have ever just let me be me, I would’ve ruled the world.”

Continuing, the former World Champion reiterated that he did the best he could with what he was given, but added that he feels like he let a lasting impression in the wrestling world:

“I didn’t have the pencil. So, I did my best I could with what they gave me every week. I like to think I changed what it meant to be a big man in the wrestling business. And now here I am with another opportunity in life to go out here and prove naysayers wrong and break these stereotypes that follow around big people like me.”

“While I’m not this super educated human being when it comes to the food space, I know what tastes good and I know how to describe it in a way that I understand it. So I like to think this is almost a more little blue-collar approach to these food shows.”

Braun Strowman was one of many releases back in May 2025. Now that the non-compete has expired, The Monster is able to appear for another promotion if he chooses to.
