Former Champion Returns At AEW Dynamite Taping, Forbidden Door Match Changed [Spoiler]

A huge name and former champion made their return at the AEW Dynamite taping in Glasgow, Scotland, and will now be a part of Forbidden Door.

As via footage from fans in attendance at the August 20 taping, former Tag Team Champion and TNT Champion Luchasaurs/Killswitch made his return to confront his former ally and tag team partner, Christian Cage. Additionally, Luchasaurus’ return match was confirmed to take place in just a few days.

According to social media posts, Cage and Adam Copeland appeared live to talk about their match at Forbidden Door, which will see them team up for the first time in over a decade to take on Nick Wayne and Kip Sabian of The Patriarchy. However, Wayne interrupted the segment and announced that he was not cleared to compete, and introduced Luchasaurus as the replacement partner for the Forbidden Door match on Sunday, August 24.

Due to the agreement between AEW and the Warner Bros. Discovery network, the show is not being broadcast live and will instead air on tape delay in both the United States and in the UK.

Former TNT Champion Luchasarus Makes AEW Return

The former Tag Team Champion has been out of the ring for over a year, last competing at All In 2024 in London. The following month, Luchasaurus was rushed to hospital after he collapsed due to his blood oxygen falling below 80%. It was later revealed that the cause of the issue was that the former TNT Champion had contracted pneumonia.
