Andre Chase and Joe Gacy are the first two participants in the returning NXT Breakout Tournament. WWE recently confirmed the return on the tournament will make its return to NXT for the first time since 2019.
Chase and Gacy qualified on the July 2nd edition of 205 live. Andre Chase defeated Guru Raaj to qualify. In Joe Gacy’s qualifying match, he defeated Desmond Troy to advance to the tournament. The return of NXT Breakout will happen on the July 13th edition of NXT.
The tournament winner will receive a championship opportunity in the future. The 2019 edition saw many names go on to be featured regularly on NXT programming. Dexter Lumis, Bronson Reed, Isaiah “Swerve” Scott and Cameron Grimes are some of the superstars that competed in the inaugural tournament.
