It has been confirmed that fans of The Simpsons will be able to see John Cena in the upcoming episode.
The 36th season of the iconic animated cartoon series will premiere on September 29th with the episode Bart’s Birthday. The WWE legend was announced ahead of time as a guest star in the show and will only be the second wrestler in history to play a role in the legendary cartoon.
Ahead of the premiere, The Simpsons social media account released a still image of Cena’s character, which many wrestling fans have humorously compared to wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer.

With Cena being tagged in the image, it appears that the 16-time World Champion will be playing himself in the show as opposed to a character.
Prior to Cena’s role in the show, the last and only time that a wrestler guest starred was all the way back in 1997 when Bret Hart briefly appeared. The Hitman purchased Mr. Burns’s mansion when the evil tycoon went bankrupt, mocking the millionaire in the process.
John Cena Prepares For Final WWE Year
Earlier in the year, Cena announced that his historic career would come to an end at the end of 2025 and that he would give the fans plenty of opportunities to see him compete one final time. Speaking at a press conference after the announcement, John Cena gave more information as to what fans can expect.
