Since its inception in 2019, AEW has grown in champions substantially with the number of titles added over the past few years.
Originally starting out with the standard Men’s, Women’s and Tag Team Championships, All Elite Wrestling created more opportunities as the roster and TV line-up expanded with men’s and women’s midcard titles the TNT and TBS Championships, which were named after the networks on the Warner Bros. Discovery network that broadcasts content from the promotion each week. Additionally, the tag team division was also expanded in 2022 with the introduction of the Trios Titles.
At the time of writing, there are currently 9 active championships to be contested for in the company, with Kazuchika Okada being recognised as holding the Continental, International and Unified Championships simultaneously, while also holding the record for the single longest title reign with the Continental Championship. Currently, Jon Moxley and Toni Storm hold the record for the most reigns with the World and Women’s Championships, respectively, as each wrestler has held the title 4 times.
