Drew McIntyre required an emergency medical procedure before his match on WWE SmackDown.
Competing in the opening match of the February 21st episode of SmackDown, McIntyre faced off against Jimmy Uso as he looked to build momentum ahead of his Elimination Chamber match on March 1st. Unfortunately, things did not go to plan for the 3-time World Champion as Uso countered an Alabama Slam to roll up McIntyre and score the upset. After the match, McIntyre attacked Uso.
Posting an update on his condition on his Instagram story, McIntyre revealed that he needed to have his knee drained just 45 minutes beforehand. The video shows yellow liquid extracted from his knee via a syringe. There has been no update as to the reason for the procedure but as he was allowed to compete there does not appear to be any injury concerns.
Drew McIntyre Previously Needed Emergency Treatment
Back in October 2024, McIntyre faced off against CM Punk in a brutal and critically acclaimed Hell in a Cell match at Bad Blood. With McIntyre struck with a toolbox in the match, The Scottish Warrior was bleeding heavily throughout in what was a rare sight in the PG era. Following the match, it was reported that Drew McIntyre required multiple staples.
