Did WWE Ask Tony Khan To Have Jon Moxley Appear At WrestleMania 40?

Jon Moxley

Tony Khan has revealed if there were ever plans for Jon Moxley to make a one-off appearance at WrestleMania 40.

At WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes finally finished the story as he defeated Roman Reigns in a chaotic Bloodline Rules match. With the match allowing anyone and everyone to interfere, multiple stars and legends made appearances to fend off The Bloodline including John Cena and The Undertaker.

During the many appearances, the music of The Shield played. At this point, many believed that Jon Moxley may join Seth Rollins as the ultimate surprise despite the fact that he was a part of AEW. Even though AEW talent has not appeared on WWE TV, the magnitude of the match made some believe that a deal had been struck for the ultimate surprise. In the end, Rollins was the only one to appear in full Shield gear and was ultimately the reason for Reigns’ downfall. As Moxley did not appear, were there ever any plans to have the former AEW Champion appear in WWE once more?

During an interview with ComicBook, Khan confirmed that WWE never asked him about a possible Jon Moxley appearance:

Speaking to ComicBook.com, AEW President Tony Khan confirmed that WWE did not reach out to AEW about using Jon Moxley for a one-off appearance during the Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns main event.
